Jasjit Purewal

Jasjit Purewal is the Director of a Delhi Based Healing centre, IFSHA (the Creative Awakening) dedicated to examining specific crises of the modern mind and why and how they translate into trauma in their daily lives. She started her career as a journalist with a prominent National Daily, which in effect triggered her major life work. Exposed as reporter to the varied life conditions of women in rural and urban India, she decided to set up Sakshi, a crisis centre in New Delhi which she co-founded and steered for many years. Feminist research, perspectives and ideology gave her a political orientation of the world that she ultimately found flawed and wanting in its truths. However it did wed her to her gift for healing trauma and pain. Overwhelmed and a little lost by the sea of suffering she faced day in and day out, she decided to embark on a deeper understanding of Truth and human suffering. Turning to ancient wisdom through modern Masters such as Dr Deepak Chopra and OSHO she embarked on a long journey of self-discovery. Around that time she founded another NGO, IFSHA (the Creative Awakening) dedicated to providing healing tools for the modern mind and its myriad traumas. As a mirror of her own quest she introduced creative working tools, drawn from multiple spiritual schools of wisdom, to help men, women and children address mild and chronic form of depression, disease, trauma and violence. Sexual healing is an intrinsic part of IFSHA’s work as much of the modern day malaise in intimacy, is rooted in who we are or aren’t sexually.
