IdeaSmith

Sometime, eons ago, I was once an artist, then a scientist, a schizophrenic, occasionally a soothsayer, sometimes a religious leader and once a tyrannical monarch. In the more recent past, I was a campus philosopher, an event organizer, a number-cruncher, an aspiring singer, a management consultant and briefly, a tarot reader. The memories of these live on and sometimes make me feel like a democracy of several lifetimes, each one shouting out his or her own take on what the course of this lifetime should be. There’s friction of course but in most cases we reach a consensus and the result is what the world sees as me. My degree has nothing to do with what I know but is my passport to the world of respectability. Come Monday morning, I delve into this world and keep alive the identity of a working professional.I also moonlight as a troubled poet, a closet bohemian, a warrior princess and a moon-gazing witch. I am all of these and yet none of them is all of me. I toy with ideas and then with words and it has taken me a quarter of a century to realize what I was born to be…a story-teller. Scheherazade, Galelio, Cleopatra and Salvador have passed through. This time round, just call me IdeaSmith.
