The monsoons are back. And so am I. :)
The new season of rains lashing across the country ushers in a new hope, a new beauty every time it visits us.
I have beautiful memories and images of the Monsoon. Scenes that still touch me, gladden me.
Memories are frozen blocks of time. Thats why they are beautiful They transcend sense perceptions.
A beautiful scenery can never be as beautiful as the memory of it once u leave that scenery behind.
it is because of positive reinforcement.
You have to be crazy to realize that.
Here are my memories of the magnificent season, the Queen of seasons...tell me yours...
5. The waves of the Arabian sea lashing across the rocks in Someshwara beach. The Austere Shiva temple on the rock a calm witness to the great Abhisheka.
4. My friends and I spreading our arms wide and drencing in the rain on the hostal terrace...not to forget the cold and fevers the next day :)
3. Swimming in the natural pool of water below the Habbey waterfalls deep in the western ghats as rain drops plooped on the water. A cobra(?) suddenly whisking away in fright into into the shrubs nearby as I touched the water. :)
2. Watching the rain drops take new paths as they slid down along the window panes of the Volvo bus. One stream looks like the Ganga, the other the Brahmaputra.
1. Sitting on the terrace in the dead of the night and watching the streaks of lightening in the horizon and the sky....seeing the flash first and then hearing the thunder. Remembering the science calss of school...light travels faster than sound.
:)
lots of love
