Something To Celebrate

By Admin - 2:27 PM Thursday 29 June 2006

We're celebrating...

for two reasons this month.

Firstly, we're pleased to announce that we have signed a contract with Harper Collins today for the publication of this blog in a book form or as a 'blook as they are popularly known in the west today. This 'Blook' is India's first ever, like this blog on sexuality. Select articles from this blog will be published by Harper Collins later this year in a book titled Is It About Sex? The book will be edited by Jasjit Purewal.

Secondly, we're celebrating a million hits on this site and over 200,000 page views to this blog. As you all know this blog has been on-line barely six months, and so we are specially overwhelmed by the response.

Thank you to our authors, readers and commentors for enriching the blog with your valuable thoughts and contributions and for being part of an experiment which is now carving an exciting, dynamic destiny for itself.

Love from all of us at IFSHA.

Wow, this is very promising news! Let me be the first to congratulate you as i happen to read this at this moment lol

Dear Jasjit, how wonderful to be able to edit this book! Hope there will also be room for your Sound of running water articles :)

And a blog that has reached so many hits in such a short period is certainly worth to carve an exciting and dynamic destiny for itself.

I am sending right now (virtually) a bunch of flourishing roses through cyberspace to celebrate the occasion with you all :)

Dearest Mieke

Thank Your for your words your wishes and of course for enriching this space with your participation. All of you have made this possible!

This 'Blook' is strictly published as a blog in book form so nothing but artciles from here. Its been quite time consuming the last few weeks
choosing a 100 posts to include but the first manuscript is finally done and now with the publisher.

As for Sound Of Running water, I do hope to bring a book together with that theme and with some of those posts someday soon.

Sending you some virtual chocolate cake and champagne for being on the 'team'.

Love and hugs

Dear Mieke

Indeed suraj chamak riha hai but in keeping with the aquarian prophecy perhaps it should be chand chad riha hai (the moon is rising) lol

Yes Harb I think its time for an isitpunjabiblog launched by Mieke and her teacher lol. Then we can all meet in Punjab and have a real clebration. Connaught Place is just not cool enough for such festivities. :)

Mieke your punjabi has me floored. And now before Harb complains again, let me also add that he must be a good teacher and you a wonderful student.lol

Harbji tvanu connaught place yaad aa ria ai te sannu makki te saag. Ainj karde an ke halfway point te milaan ge. Tussi makki saag lai aana te assi connaught place da khana:-)

Thanks Jasjit for the chand chad riha hai. You will never believe this, but a couple of years ago i purchased such a beautiful sound mobile (you know those thingies you hang somewhere and when the wind blows or you walk against it, they make a beautiful sound).

The universe really conspired in making me choose this one as it also contains a beautiful brown sun and a blank moon united in a sweet kiss lol. If you want, could send you a picture of it by mail.

So a blog about "Is it about the East and the West" would be the first i think of lol but perhaps we are back then with the male and the female and "Is it about sex?"

So Harb don´t worry :)

And Anusheh: asin dosat han, nahin?

Jasjit&admin...this is quite a painful coincidence to see my entry with anonymous here. That person is a hacker. The last thing anyone wud want to see is that person playing with this beautiful site.

Beware of those Admin!!! Don't keep it that free for the hackers to wander into your site.

Hi Mieke

I love mobiles and yes I would love to see a picture of yours. few years ago I was in Washington and picked up a really beautiful/unusual mobile made of ribbed glass in a sky blue tint. It has these empty rings set off by circles of blue with painted centres like mandalas. It hangs in my meditation room atop a beautiful Buddha carved within a tree trunk (I think its of Thai origin) so in the silence of the room all you here is this ever so soft tinkle which actually sounds like a faraway bell. Quite ethereal!

jasjit, anusheh, fair enough. let us wait for the right time...

in fact i was talking of canaught place because my visit to my sister at delhi was overdue and i thought i will also meet with you when i came. but all right, more so because i really dont know when i will actually make to delhi...i am not a great traveller lol...

jasjit, you must have done a lot of hard work for finding and editing the right posts, i thought you were just into what you said potato-mind state lol.

cheers to all once again!

aachi, congratulations and thanks to you too. congratulations because you too have contributed much to this blog and thanks because it was you who invited me here and you know when i google for "self designed universe" many of the entries come from this "isitaboutsexblog.com which means the reverse must also be true which means this blog is giving great publicity to my otherwise not so saleable book too.

Posted by

  on July 1, 2006 07:50 PM

Harb Ji

When and if you make it to Delhi you have to not only visit Ifsha but my home too. So connaught Place can be your private jaunt. Yes the potato mind makes mundane things like editing very labourious and tedious at times. But like I've said before, SOT is here right now and I act and take one day at a time in it. Pher jo vi karana hai usdi raza vich kar guzar di haan, hun tey ey vi nahi pata ki changa kardi haan yan manda. :)

jasjit, i cannot tell how much i have enjoyed your phrase "have to" in the first line of your message. though not a very social person more so because of my hearing/english-speaking/desi persona/punjabi problems - the kind who does not go even on people's khushi and gami occasions if he can - now jadon mein dilli aya tuhade kol jarur avanga...ate shaid jaldi hi...

perhaps this phrase points towards what one may say zen state of relationships - having no relationship you will have full relationship, having full relationship you will have no relationship...

Thanks Enakhsi, Subbu and Sachin,

Hi Aachi, Shubhosree.

The Congrats (like I said earlier) goes to everyone who has contributed to this blog whether with their articles or their comments.

For me so far this has been a wonderful journey and the Blook is going to be like a documentation of the journey, the ups and downs, the realization and the new self that I have only begun to experience and understand. What is going to make the blook special for me is that with every article there are memories attached, not only of my own but memories of the person who has written it and put her/his memories into it, the person(s) who have put down their memories by comenting on the blog.

Jasjit, Anusheh and Shubhosree a big big hug to you guys for encouraging me through this journey.

Yes Shubzee

Remember those endless discussions, the software chase, the many 'dummy' experiences(lol), the fears, the neuroses (those specific ones!!!) and then the first month when every morning we raced into office fearing to see the worst spammers and hackers abound. Yes m'dear it was quite a fun journey (in retrospect) and today is the anniversary of that crazy day seven months ago!. Who would have thought...and now its all getting immortalized in a book you can regale your grandchildren with. Imagine that..telling your cute little grandchildren that cuddly grandma created the first ever blog on SEX...how's that for a legacy Lol

Dear Jasjit,

LOL!!!! Oh yeah!!! i remember every moment of that. In retrospect, it is all quite funny indeed but at that time, we were just short of pulling our hair off! And I specially remember the late night sitting till 1.30 (remember that Anusheh??) trying to get it all ready to go..... feeding on some stale left-over pizza!! What fun!

And yep I will surely be the proud grandma to be flaunting my humble contribution to the first blog and blook on SEX .... wouldnt that be something?! one hep grandma I'd say .... I am loving it :-D

Great first 7 months for the blog Jasjit! Congrats to all :-)

Love and hugs,

Hi Shubhz

That was really a lot of fun:-) I think we could hardly see at the end of it but it was so exciting to finally see the blog coming alive. Poor Guru was at an airport I think, being held hostage to his computer by us manic women.lol And now it's seven whole months old. Must say a big thank you to Guru again because we haven't had any hitches thanks to his great programming.
