Patterns and Imprints - by Sundar Srinivasan

By - 7:19 AM Tuesday 10 January 2006

If we carefully observe, there are patterns which govern our lives. The patterns may be nourishing or self-defeating, but they are patterns all the same.It does not matter whether it is an iron prison or a gold prison, a prison is a prison.

There are events which have crippled me time and again in life.My personal debugging mechanisms have manifested awesome domains of healing within us.

I had a very significant experience when I was about 28 years old.

I had a peculiar problem of talking in my sleep, which was very embarassing.I used to tour a lot which aggravated the social repurcussions of the situation.I had met a lot of doctors, tried recording my nocturnal mumblings, but none was very indicative.I was helpless and desperate for a solution.

Around this time,I attended a process after a mystical event guided me to it.The process was introductory though remarkably elaborate. It spoke of patterns induced by karmic aspects as well as fundamental childhood decisions amongst a lot others. My need made me plunge into the process.

Certain insights mystically happened to me as I remembered an event in the 7th year of my life where my mom had taken me to a local park. Two friends of mine, who were twins also came there with their maid servant. They were stouter and tougher than me.

The event came into focus very clearly. These two boys grabbed a kitten that was around , wrung its' neck and drowned it in a well that was part of the park precincts.

I was a witness to the event, which had a far reaching inpact on my life as it was to unfold. The insights continued. I saw decisions supposedly made out of my free will or choice to have emerged from this event.Like, my decision to work with under-privileged sections was motivated by a residual guilt which manifested through this event at my inability to do anything for the kitten.Somewhere, I saw myself as being responsible. In later life, I resented power, authority, which also had its roots in this event. They were two and I was one, I could not fight them. The struggle and helplessnesss of the kitten triggered of a great fear in me, a reflection of my own vulnerability.

I came back home after the event.I still had my reservations on what I had seen mystically. The event was not part of my colloquial rememberance space. I discussed it with my mother who attested the event. She rememebered it.

That night when i was sleeping , a process continued within me.As i was asleep, I experienced a black cat paw me totally...The experience sends shivers and goose pimples even as i recollect it.It was very real.I actually found my tshirt and a wrap around torn as i battled the cat. After it left, I urinated on my bed , the quantity of outflow was huge.

After that night, I never talked in my sleep. Some cycle seemed to have been completed, of the cat having had its revenge on me in karmic spaces and liberating me from its hold.

it was a trigger for explores on various areas of my patterned behaviour, which continues to date, even as insights and experiences keep manifesting.Events concerning past life manifests were also part of this process where past lives far from being a "concept" I believed in or had reserevations about, was authenticated by personal experiences of healing.Much like Brian Weiss and his expresses with his patient in Many Lives, Many Masters.

The focus of this posting is to indicate how patterns get formed in our lives and guide our entire lives. The processes i underwent are contextual to my personal space.

Fundamental Childhood Decisions need to be revisited by various processes of regression and weeded out.Insightful, spiritually inspired processes such as ifsha would definitely be addressing it with their wealth of experience and knowledge.

Being aware of patterns, be they of poverty, or failure or any other, go a long way towards addressing such issues from their roots and healing us of crippling situations that manifest in our lives.

There is a certain sacredness to events in our lives as they lead us step by step to our dissolution in the ocean of oneness. Our crosses are custom-designed for evolution in those spaces.

"Our crosses are custom-designed for evolution". Well put Sundar.

I dont know if you are aware but between the age of 28 and 32 our lives are influenced by something called the Rings of Saturn. These years are supposed to be the time during which a lot of karmic patterns manifest and life reaches a sort of peak in the challenges that it brings to one.

interesting post sundar.

Anusheh, you talk of the rings of saturn. have you heard the Golden Nebula theory? its very interesting. it talks about why we have the golden and the dark ages of existence...but more of it in the afternoon...i have to run now.

Sundar, what a lovely express! Patterns and imprints.. So true, fundamental childhood influences and the environment in which children are brought up are key to later adulthood socialization, and personality. In my early years of studying life span development psychology, I used to be fascinated by the fact that 0-6 years is called the critical period, and it is believed that the brain absorbs all stimuli that then become the basis of human behaviour in adulthood. Thereafter, lifespan proceeds through stages, through childhood, adolescence and youth into adulthood. Anusheh is right, though I didn't know about the rings of saturn, a paradigm shift happens as we enter early adulthood, a period when all those influences from 0-6 are retrieved and manifest in life skills, coping, communication, defense mechanisms, etc.

It was more studying text those days, but 12 years later, now it makes so much more sense. I see it in my work - amongst vulnerable communities, in my personal life and amongst my peers and friends. like I mentioned in another post, its only in the last 3 years that I've begun noticing the patterns, and tracing back the roots of those imprints.

A simple example from my own life - while there were mostly empowering influences around me in childhood, there were difficult ones too.. My parents were amazing but there were immediate social circles where they were reprimanded for their child rearing practices, they were not bringing up their girls the way it was done. That left a very deep imprint on my mind. Added to that the comments from adults that were directed at me, comments about my looks and behaviour, that I'd never be a good woman, I could never make a good wife, left me with a huge huge complex about my physical looks and abilities and skills. Especially since there were very strong, very beautiful women around me, I was the ugly duckling, a tomboyish youngster doing crazy things. The ugly duckling bit has stayed all along. Though I have been able to deal with the competence part, there's still the inferiority bit, something that I still have to deal with. Even a sincere compliment makes me feel awkward, i still feel out of place.

But I was lucky, my parents and the men in my life helped me to understand and recognize the patterns and the imprints - anger, bitterness, resentment, guilt, issues of morality, gender stereotypes, role playing... today there is so much more I understand better and am able to practice being a "person"..

So thank you Sundar, Anusheh - for helping us along the path to healing with some more steps and insights.

hi Anusheh, take this theory with a little pinch of salt...it is forwarded by people who believe in UFOs, extraterrestrial life and advanced civilizations in outer space. ( They even have names for such...like the andromedans, the orions , the people of the arcturus star etc...)

"GOLDEN NEBULA/ PHOTON BELT"

In 1961, satellite born instruments discovered a PHOTON BAND in outer space. This PHOTON BELT or MANASIC RING or The GOLDEN NEBULA, which scientists have not been able to reproduce in the laboratory, encircles the Pleiades and extends the 400 light years to our solar system. Our Sun was said to orbit this system and all these stars were said to have planets. Our Sun was said to orbit this system in 24,000 years( all timings are not exact). During this time we spend alternately 10,000 years in the dark and 2,000 in the light of the PHOTON BELT. We were said to be about to enter the light of the PHOTON BELT, when...

1. the Spirit of the Earth popularly called Gaia would contact its higher vibration Tara and would beautify itself bathed in pure light.

2. Gaia would heal itself, forests would again find fertile lands to sprout again, natural resources would be replenished etc (how nobody knows).

one should understand that Gaia theorists deem that earth is a living being called Gaia and humans are like parasites infecting it!! they also say it has a super self called Tara.

so an Earth coming in line of a hypothetical Cosmic Beam of Photon energy would heal itself like a human in the dose of therapeutic radio waves!

3. Advanced humans will be become galactic citizens due to newer vibrations bombarding them and they will discover a fraternity of extraterrestrial life in surrounding star systems.

and many such more...

the event was supposed to happen in 1996, now believers who were snubbed in 1996 put the date at 2012.

but what interests me more than this being true or not is the wonderful theoretical possibility this idea throws up in explaining different yugas of ancient inidians.

Dwapara, Treta , Kali , Satya yugas.

the conspiracy theory has omniously very close resemblances to our Satya yuga predictions.

IS IT POSSIBLE?

a disk of mass...the milky way rotating in empty space. the portion with the earth being exposed in various courses of time to different beams of light and photons in outer space coinciding with the yugas???

its aweinspiring. one theory which could explain the different yugas. they had always baffled me.

we are now in Kali yuga (The Dark Age) where crime is highest and there is no worth to truth.

can it be because...right now...our earth is traversing through a path of outer space with no photon beam?( THE DARK AGE?!)

interesting...

lots of love,

hey aachi , i can totally identify with what is written there...the terminologies may be different...i see a morphogenetic field manifest by 2012...with far reaching impacts...on the healing of the earth and its beings; needless to add, healing also involves seemingly destructive events...i see a surfacing of deep seated suppressed pains through activity of the photon belts..It is the manifest of the fundamental pain...infact, i feel connected intensely to the process...have done some explores in this regard...it is also connected to aspects like schumann's resonance which will reach a peak by 2012...essentially a parameter of magnetic resonance, this will lead to a wiping of the earth's collective karmic memory...schumann's resonance is connected to the heart rate of man...there is a major movement in consciousness realms...brain structures are evolving and this cosmic event is in line with the next evolutionary species after homo sapiens emerging after 1000 earth years...the event in 2012 would also mark a meeting of science and spirituality beyond its apparent separatedness...

Aachi

Thanks that was really interesting. Who knows the mysteries that make us tick, rejuventate us and keep us from self combusting (as hard as man has tried this particular one)

"one should understand that Gaia theorists deem that earth is a living being called Gaia and humans are like parasites infecting it!! they also say it has a super self called Tara." This especially makes perfect sense to me. Human beings are indeed like parasites, infecting the earth and giving it little back for all its compassion (Tara the mother of all the Buddhas).

Thanks again for explaining that to me.

Kali Yuga is indeed a time of darkness however it is also a time of great transformation .... like what kali herself signifies....It is because the challenges of this Yuga are so great that the possibility of transformation and the speed with which you can accomplish it are also much greater than ever before. Does that make sense?

lots of love :-)
