Hi

there ar two questions I have.

1. Why is this blog so steeped in finding spiritual answers to everything. Be it good, bad, ugly,pretty... i guess since i am an agnostic i find it difficult to comment ocassionally, as i do not wish to hurt anyone's sentiments?

2. Why is it that a sex blog has so many comments on issues which are not related to the blog in any way?

Dearest Madhavi

Please feel free to comment as and when you wish on the blog. We appreciate different views and opinions. And really I dont think anyones sentiments would be hurt. Instead maybe we can learn something new and different and enrich our beings.

Hi Madhavi,

Point taken.
I know I am guilty on those counts.
My sincere apologies to all for the “aberrations”.

I think if we have the email Ids of our fellow bloggers, that would be great. In that case we can directly write to them about a certain issue, which pertains to the individual. (The case in point being my recent message to Aachi about his college video.I just felt like congratulating him on that, and had no other means of communicating apart from the blog. Sorry about that ).

I was tempted to read The Intent Section of the Blog again.
“This blog is an effort to create a surrogate space. Surrogate for the ideal world where we can express our fears, confusions, desires, questions and insecurities without being judged. A place which is geared towards listening with receptivity, where we can learn by other’s struggles and victories, where inspiration comes from the simplest truths and honesty helps heal and build bridges.”
Got my answers :-)
From now on will try and have “sex on my mind” while writing ;-)

Sorry :-(

Dear Prasun

As I see it the blog is a way to connect and that too with the comfort of anonymity.

Personally I find that reaching out to each other and building bridges is very much part of the intent of this blog. I dont think one can have sex on ones mind all the time:) Besides sexuality is what this blog is about and one of the things we're trying to do is create a larger, more wholesome and holistic notion of what sexuality really is. To us its about intimacy, passion, desire, body, sex, relating and the entire gamut of behaviours and thoughts that come into play in this vast open field.

So no I dont think you need to apologise because we are all equally guilty of building bridges on this blog:)

Just to add...And building bridges is important because we want this space to nurture, provide solace and support to people and hey also just plain fun. Personally I'd hate to lose that feeling.

I think this blog might miss out on some critical insight from those of us outside the fields of knowledge about sex behaviours of humans..without the occasional posts of blogs on other subjects as well.

OUR Contributor Hosts, all offer a wonderful forum, in which to combine a Sacred healing cirlce, from many professionals and specialists; and beyond that scope; the willing participant, to offer that ONE more "glimpse" of the pandora mind.

This IS a rarity blog; and could enable healing opportunity for the mass's..and/or lead them to that road of less tears/fears and rejections of life.

Hey Madhavi,

You are most welcome on the blog with all your views and comments. Please keep them coming. We are all here to share our experiences and wisdom from wherever we are, at an individual level. I am happy to say that this blog values everyone for who they are and the joy they bring to all of us.

At the expense of sounding repetitive, I would like to reiterate that our intention is to create an open space for all, without judgement and restrictions of any kind. :-)

About the blog being related to Sex, I think Anusheh has answered that already. :-)

Dear Prasun,

No apologies requried :-)

As Anusheh rightly said, the blog is about connecting and building bridges.

So the 'fun' is part of it! Moreover, this is the very reason why we have different categories like, OPEN THREAD, where we can talk about issues that are not related to the pieces written at that point of time. And as for HUMOUR, well, laughter is the best medicine that we all need every once in a while. No harm there. Isnt it? :-)

Hello Happy Bloggers

Madhavi
I think like everything else in our life that needs redfining to fit the mind/body/soul of our times, so does spirituality. It needs to be rescued from mainstream religiousity and ritual and made into a more do-it-yourself philosophy of basically seeking lightness, love and spontaneity. For us, only the concept of the spirit encompasses that and more. Elongated the term becomes spiritual.

As I have mentioned in another piece somewhere how can the sexual be outside the 'spirit' that we all are. Perhaps the reason the sexual has gone so 'wrong' in our world is because it has been in a pen conceptually. This blog as North says, has an intention of moving to a more unfettered self. And we hope that broadening the threshold of what we understand as the sexual may well do that. And in that context, everyone is trying to share, cull out, articulate their own vision/understanding. I think I can safely say for all, that no one would be 'miffed' by anyone else's differing point of view. As Anusheh suggested, in difference we will all push our frontiers all over again. So please blog on an say what you need to.

I hope this answers both your questions. :-)

Hi Prasun

Actually the advantage of sharing things on the blog is that all get to partake of it. Personal ids would thwart that.

Whatever springs from your 'mind' has enormous value for this blog. So let it spring away with abandon. All is the wonder of this Leela. :-)

Dear Madhavi,

To talk about our selves, about our sexuality, about our fantasies, about our obsessions, about our sexual problems is not a very easy thing to do. The constant flow of conversations, 'unrelated' comments allow me to feel relaxed and uninhibited from sharing my experiences, fears, dilemmas, obsessions, fantansies. Take for instance your frank questioning will allow others to come out of their inhibitions and pose their questions too:)

Meanwhile I like reading your takes on the pieces. Gives us all much to think about.

Keep Blogging!

Good Morning everyone! Being in northern ontario Canada, has given us a significant time difference!

AS I slumber with the dance of sleep, you dance the song of daylight!!

This alone, I find truly amazing in the internet world!! I was born in the 50's; we had "operators" just to use phones way back(ahem) then.... and now, look at me.....talking to beautiful spirits around the world!!!

Well, the contributors to the design of IFSHA and this site is commendable!! and I like the smile-face "Rating" smiley!!

Prasun, nope I wasn't joking(wink)!

OPEN QUESTION:

By college, I am a graphic design and desktop publisher; and also a teacher assistant-aboriginal....these credentials got me nowhere......due to my "activist" 3-4 four year run; I'm black-booked from employment here...even if i wasn't on a disability for a long list of physical frailties(inherent emotionals tribulations)....I love what I do, none the less... my TA skills used with my son; whom in his last year of high school; has made a consequite honour roll...placement!!!

this takes "teamwork" to do.... not just as a mother child I am insinuationg; but, more of as a teacher and student rapore.

AS for the PC graphic designs, being in a small, rural dying gold mining town; and not that good at it "yet" really; I am yet, about to achieve a second book cover design. No monetary exchange..but, my name will be in the book as cover designer.

Leading to a point here.....AS I re-construct "North" I see my achievements are many; I feel a certain approval-rating of self-pride without crossing the line, into vanity(evils favorite sin.)

So, in the scheme of the way all things work; like the pieces it takes, to make a clock work; we turn, and we mark time.... with what we do, or fail to do.....

AS a middle-aged disabled lady on a disability.... I do NOT feel a failure.... if anything, I feel battle-weary is all; but, my Spirit is of the strong, kind of string; and one day, the string which binds me to emotional suffering; will severe, as my clock ticks, with the hourglass of time and self-evolutionary visions!

I used to be very hard on myself!! Really, up until recently, coming here....you have all helped me recognise significant achievements; I'd all but forgotten, in my pool of projectioning the failures(jobless/health, etc.)..

I must add my due thanks, for the wonderful butterfly-effect; which has not only entranced my Spirit; but, has released my burdening share(gentle smiles.)

So, I resonate with the teamwork of the healing circle...it brings all things around to the beginning, so one might see their twisting paths of doubt,,straighten in the narrow.....towards an opening field of dreams....

So, back to my OPEN QUESTION:

What helped you(anyone here) choose your path? What sort of revelations helped you see yourself in a clearer mirror?

Shuprobhat to you too Surjo!

Well the second line meant - "This place is funny!" :))

you could just say - "Ae Jaega to khoob bhaalo" meaning this place is very good. :)

Dear North,

Good evening to you :)

What helped me get on this path? hmmm .... Well, to be honest, it was never a conscious decision really. I have treated each and every experience as a step towards getting to 'myself'. To put it another way, each painful experience has taught me what was wrong with me or how I should change or improve my attitude towards something or someone. Of course, I have had my share of tears and anxiety. But as I came to understand myself, life, love a little better with each so-called 'negative' experience, I could feel a growing sense of peace within. A halcyon heart :)

For me, this is the path and I have total faith in the supreme force that is guiding me. So as Prasun quoted from my favourite Dire Straits song - "Why worry now". All is going to be well.

Cheers! :)

Dear Shubhosree

You've made my day.

If there's anything which i am "Obsessed" with, its Music. Anything related to it..I am always game.I mean i can just go on & on.

"Be strong my friend....You will be nearer to heaven through Football , than through the study of Gita" So said Swami Vivekananda. I reach there through Music.

There was this ad of a music system which came out few years ago..and it read "If music is your religion, then the doors to heaven are OPEN". It captured my imagination..just loved that.

Anyways i am getting a bit too obsessed , and that too talking about music on a "Sex Blog". Thats a sacrilege !!

Cheers

Wonderful share, Shubhosree, thankyou!

I love/cherish those glimpsing moments of recognising something about myself; tonight had a synchronizing event about it too!

Like lately; I've been so stressed re: sending son to 36 hour round trip by bus; which will cost an arm/leg/kidney to pay for as well next month!!

But, my son lovingly jokes with me while eating some ice-cream for dessert(rare treat-bad fats, bad fats!!)...

and tells me I am just like my leo sign..

"how's that son", I asked? He replied: "worrying is like being a cat chasing its tail"!

I looked at him and said proudly:

"your mother taught you well." (wink!)

so, threw that worry to the wind, and it is no more, in my hand! lol

I find, life and awareness, is kinda like that...like a light-bulb is at last, lit!

Dear Shubhosree, Chaitali, Anusheh (where's she btw?) & Jasjit: Thanks for answering or appreciating my comments and (shubhos & chaitali) for my 'tuti-futi' start at bangla ;-). You guys like all others have somehow been the source of a lot of learnings. A big hug to you all :-)

And buddy Prasun: What can I say, Thanks for the new name & the shares of Tagore, Vivekananda, and others, bro! ;-) Best wishes for you!

I will be around and try to be a regular here.

And Shubhosree: No teachers, Just the net (with some regularity & a schedule that I'm following) is helping me learn this language (isn't it close to hindi in writing too?) Now am learning to write some words too.

Wish me luck guys!! ;-)

Was going through the Budget speech of Finance Minister, which was presented today.

Couldn't resist my temptation to quote here how our FM concluded the speech..

"Over a hundred years ago, a restless young man in his quest for the core of all spirituality admonished his fellow men in the following words: 'We reap what we sow. We are the makers of our own fate. The wind is blowing; those vessels whose sails are unfurled catch it, and go forward on their way, but those which have their sails furled do not catch the wind. Is that the fault of the wind?....... We make our own destiny.' Those are the immortal words of Swami Vivekananda. Let us believe in our destiny, let us make our future.
Sir, with these words, I commend the Budget to the House."

Don't know how to express my thoughts on this but to put it simply i must say it felt NICE :-)

Good morning to all

Its time to have a Chat with God.Are you ready?

God : Hello. Did you call me?
Man: Called you? No.. who is this?

God : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Man: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

God : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Man: Don't know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Man: I understand. But I still cant figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God : Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.
Man: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Man: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are
analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.
Man: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Man: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty..

God : Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Man: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction.Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
Man: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Man: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?

God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength.
Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Man: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..

God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading.Look inside. Looking outside, you dream.Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Man: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God : Success is a measure as decided by others.Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Man: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Man: What surprises you about people?

God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
Man: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.

God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Man: How can I get the best out of life?

God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Man: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Man: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the New Year with a new sense of inspiration.

God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live .

Good Morning Prasun

Marvellous chat room there! I often wonder whether we ever feel gratitude for the fact that life is bursting with all the wisdom/roads/windows that we can possibly need to the road to bliss. Especially since the net came into our lives and yet we manage to be lost and suffering. I guess the reason we don't feel the gratitude is because we cannot 'see'the abundance around us and vice-versa.
Thanks for the reminder :-)

Hi Guys!

God what a ride it was from home to office! Took me 2 hours to reach office, almost fell asleep at the wheels. And all this thanks to Mr. Bush! Roads blocked, traffic jams, helicopters surveying from above, cops roaming all around... felt like I was in a movie.

Anyway the lovely songs 'I want to Break Free', Ae dille nadan (Razia Sultan)and many other on the Radio were there to cheer me up; the cute couple (male-female)on the bike romancing also cheered me up and kept from falling asleep ;)

Good Morning everyone!

Hey Prasun Buddy,

Just saw your suggestion about the Search and Shubhosree's response. Really good Suggestion. Have faced this myself man!

But as a very raw/temporary solution, I generally click the "More Comments ..." Link (just above the Poll) and then once there, use the Browser's find option to search for the word in all the comments (around last 50 comments - i guess).

Hope it works for you. Works for me for now.
;-)

Thought I'd put this in here,

I'm glad I have you guys to share this with,
sitting here after the rain tonight,
after a hectic but (as usual) a satisfying day of learnings.

"Enjoying the wetness of the Wind after this beautiful rainy night,
after deliberately wetting my hair to feel the chilly bite

Still silent, without diluting the moments with wasteful words or thought,
letting everything in thru the eyes - the peaceful emptiness it has brought

Yes, this is the silent me behind my anonymous forgettable face
Strange, how I've opened up so easily in this place

I feel this blog is but a place where the true self shows up,
Out from all his fears, doubts & pains he cheers this self as he grows up."

Hey Surya,

I too enjoyed a peaceful time last evening watching the rain through the window in my room ... no lights, just watching the trees sway like crazy in the wind, the sound of rain and the fragrance of wet earth ..... simply awesome!

Hey Guys!!

What a beautiful day!!

Have been waiting to get back to my Clan since my morning drive across the washed city roads, brightened greens with a new life & that cool/fresh morning breeze. And what a view from the top of the Flyover. [Khoob Khoob Bhalo - Darun (?)]

Its great to see Nature turning a new leaf with each new season as she's doing now - towards a season of Colour :-).

Hoping to spread the colours in here too ;-)

Night time too is in its own ways beautiful, isn't it?

Dear Chaitali,
Must have been a great Sunday morning I'm sure (myself? - was enjoying the royal moments in bed. who else could ever sleep till 10 in morning!?)

"I decided to tackle my obssession... cleaning my exhaust fan" - Good to hear that. About time. And perhaps it exhaused you guys because it was way back when you cleaned it last!! ;-) (and btw - did you clean it or did Gaurav ... ...) (Sorry, just kidding)

And yes Mam - We all are researchers of sorts.

What Matters In Life
Author Unknown

Some people understand life better

And they call some of these people "retarded"...

At the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash.

At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win.

All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry.

They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said,

"This will make it better."

Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line.

Everyone in the stadium stood, the cheering went on for several minutes.

People who were there are still telling the story...

Why?

Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves.

What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.
