Well its raining outside and I am reminded of Mangalore. So here I
am sitting in front of my computer which doesnt type 'T' properly
telling you a few unconventional ways of attaining the Godhead.
A few ways of Attaining Ishwara...

1. Go for long drives:
A friend once told me of a couple in Noida, who had this penchant
for going long drives...at the drop of a hat.
Just like the couple in 'Let's Go' ad of Maruthi Alto
It seems that one day the girl actually pouted her face at her
husband and said " Hey its been a long time since we went for a long
ride...." The smiling husband obliged.
It may sound silly...how can one relate God and long drives?
Most of our lives we live in enclosed spaces...office rooms, hotels,
hospitals, homes...
90 % of our life we live surrounded by walls.
When we go out for long drives and enjoy the vast scenic beauty
outside the city reaches...with the lush green meadows stretching
for acres and acres, and the sun dipping slowly into evening slumber
our minds are perfect in rest.
They are awed by the vast expanse and relax in wonder of the
infinite.
When you experience that feeling....you have skimmed the
experience of Godhead.
2. Watch the devotees and not the gods:
I always love going to the temple...not only because I get to
see a beautiful diety...but also because I see millions of devotees
in various raptures of devotion.
If I see someone rolling on the ground , I also see someone
else slapping his cheeks and asking forgiveness from the Lord.
If i find an ultra modern guy in a posh CRV giving a damn to
traffic regulations, I also see him just stop a wee bit and kiss his
hand as he respectfully prays for a moment in the local Hanuman
temple.
A girl in pink kneeling in front of Jesus in Vizag, to the
five year old who cannot utter Govinda correctly in
Tirupati....every devotee is an experience...an element of Godhead.
Watch them keenly and you will be surprised to find that the
God you worship on the altar has come in hese various forms...
3. Forgive yourself:
We are way bent in forgiving others....for wrongs done by them to
us....but the moment when we commi a mistake which hurts
someone...we feel guilty....we feel sad...we feel lost....
Godhead is not for depressed minds....sinners might experience
Godhead...but a guilty mind never.
We should learn to forgive ourselves....we are human...
When I bungled up an operation and felt bad about it for months
together I never experienced God in me....
But the day I learnt from my mistake and forgave myself for my
limitations...I became light again....
For one small moment...I had attained Ishwara again.
:)
lots of love,
more unconventional ways in the next post...

Dear, dear Aachi
Your posts weave such magic of the ordinary and the profound. You are truly this blog's resident Godhead. Thank You for a simply marvellous post. Love the pix- the blissful duo!
Your post reminds me of a Zen saying
"Mind set free in the Dharma-realm,
I sit at the moon-filled window
Watching the mountains with my ears,
Hearing the stream with open eyes.
Each molecule preaches perfect law,
Each moment chants true sutra:
The most fleeting thought is timeless,
A single hair’s enough to stir the sea."
